Raul Martinez

Rotan-Raul T. Martinez, 61, passed away Wednesday, October 30, 2019, in Sweetwater.  Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2019, at Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Belvieu Cemetery, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.

Born November 4, 1957, in Dallas, Raul was the son of Cruz, Sr. and Grable (Trejo) Martinez.  He was a avid sports fan especially of the Dallas Cowboys. He worked for many years in Sweetwater at the Cotton Oil Mill. One of his favorite past times was barbequing for the family.

Raul is preceded in death by a son Christopher Michael Martinez, his father Cruz Sr., his brother Cruz Jr., and a sister Donna.

Survivors include his mother Grable, Martinez; a daughter Michelle Martinez, and a son Raul Martinez Jr. and wife Terra of Knox City. His grandchildren Kirstie, Kelsey, Kambrie, and Justin Cole Shelley of Rotan. Elizabeth, Gabriella, and Aryanna Martinez of Knox City. Sisters Lydia (Benjamin) Torres, Rosemary (Ernesto) Carreno, Linda Sosa, Vicky Martinez, Yolanda Timmons.

Wife Mary and her children Adrian, Yvette, Dominic, Oliver, and Audrey. Their children Cameron, Stonie, Nicholas, Landon, Carley, Colbey, Cage, and Cutter.

Pallbearers will be nephews Eric Martinez, Joseph Benavides, Damien Alvarado, Joshua Benavides, Kevin Buchanan, and friend Paul Solis. Honorary Pallbearer will be his lifelong friend Raymond Messick.
