Rotan- Wanda R. White, 91, passed away May 9, 2021, in Sweetwater. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the First Baptist Church, with burial to following in Belvieu Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 11, 2021, at the First Baptist Church, directed by Weathersbee-Ray Funeral Home.
Born September 8, 1929, in Fisher County on the old home place, Wanda was the daughter of the late John Elmer and Katie (Ensminger) Gabel. She married the love of her life Arthur “Buddy” White on June 8, 1946, at Mount Zion Nazarene Church. Wanda loved being with her family (taking long walks in the canyon of Fisher County on Sundays after church, family reunions, having her grandchildren over for visits, going on mission trips, playing tennis, and doing community service projects with the ladies in her Sunday school class). She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and painting. Wanda was a member of the First Baptist Church and loved to work in the nursey during vacation bible school.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, one son (David White), one daughter (Sherry Armstrong), one daughter-in-law (Judy White) and three brothers (Glen Gabel, Charles Gabel, and John Gabel).
Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Donald McQueen; one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Laura White; one sister, Erlene Tankersley; two sisters-in-law, Lanell White and Penny White; seven grandchildren, Chad Alls (Emily), Julie Murdock (Jerry), Lynette McQueen, Tracy Elrod, Eleshia Rivers (Jamie), Amber Cave (Jeff) and Michelle Sommers (Kyle); ten great-grandchildren; Brianna, Bryson, Pecos, Kelsey, Cole, Taylor, Mason, Isabella, Trystin and Evan; and five great-great-grandchildren, Kynzlee, Christian, Braelyn, Rhody and Henley
