Allen was born August 24, 1912, in Roby to Marshall and Janie Cooper Morton. He married Lenora Elizabeth Schubert in Sweetwater on December 31, 1935. Allen was a lifelong resident of Fisher County, with the exception of 3 years at Old Glory. He worked for Midwest Electric Cooperative until retiring. Allen farmed and loved carpentry. He enjoyed restoring old pianos and furniture and was very active in the community which he loved. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church and loved singing for the church and other organizations. Allen is preceded in death by his wife Lenora in 2006, a son Donald Morton in 1994, parents, five brothers and sisters.
Allen is survived by a son and daughterinlaw, Harvey and Cathy Morton of Lubbock a daughter and soninlaw, Brenda and Terry Breeden of Abilene six grandchildren, Allison Pritchard and her husband Cameron, Kimberly Hendrix, Craig Morton and his wife Shannon, Mindy King and her husband Justin, James Breeden and his wife Amanda, Sheila Kitts and her husband Carey, and eleven greatgrandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Big Country or the First United Methodist Church of Roby. .
