William Jackson Jack Ballentine departed for heaven on August 8, 2014. He was born on March 16, 1934 in Tallassee, Alabama. He married June Ann McCombs on November 19, 1955, in Crosbyton, Texas. He was a member of the Rotan Church of Christ. His love for aviation was surpassed only by his love for his family. He enlisted in the Army in 1952, serving as a helicopter mechanic. After working as parts manager for WesTex Aircraft in Lubbock for several years, he became the general manager for Avtech Aviation in Lubbock. He also worked for Memphis Aero, and retired from Raytheon Aircraft in 1997.
He is survived by his wife two sons, Mark Ballentine of Shallowater, and Tom Ballentine of Rotan two daughters, Leesa Swafford of Lubbock, and Amy Ballentine of Rotan two sisters, Jane Terry of Post, and Judy Bush of Andrews nine grandchildren, three greatgrandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack L. and Fannie Ballentine, and a sister, Kay Horner.
